this is a myspace layout for my own profile: [link]
the background was taken from a segmant of this deviation: [link]
and the rest of the layout put togeher using the div overlay method, edited in text edit.
i wanted something simple and tidy for my 'business' profile that would act primaraly as a way of dircting people to my portfolio site and so on, but would still allow people to comment and add me.
I use Firefox.
I did manage to get the div overlay method to work for me, I pretty much made it from scratch...none of the tut's I found worked for some reason. But then my myspace account stopped working. So it was a waste of time lol.
I just checked it out in IE. And it looks almost perfect.
Only problem is that some of the text is coming up black.
From what I can tell you just need to declare the font in the div.readWrap class.
I just finished my new myspace div overlay now lol. [link]
yeah, i'd been trying to figure out that text thing - i hadn't been able to work out why it was doing that
and as for your new layout - very nice it looks too! i've sent you an add...
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

I can't seem to get my custom myspace layouts to work so well, and I've tried a lot of different things. Very impressed with that there.
it's the div overlay method that i've used - there are a few good tutorials online if you google but they do require a bit of css/html knowledge.
out of interest which browser were you using? i'm still a little unsure if it's o.k on IE..
